Carina took a Trip!

So off she went on her first plane ride to California. She went to visit her nana and although MOST times I take my REAL camera everywhere, I forgot it this time due to sickness and half a brain working for me. SO here is a couple pics from the day she flew out (tuesday) from my cell phone...

So much stuff!!!!

STOP: Breathe: relax: BLOG!!!!

So the last week I have sort of blogged, sort of not, but the time I have had has been next to negative 400 hours. Haha. I have been working like crazy (at least 10-13hour days every day) RC has been working 7 days a week (13 hour days) and sometime in between all of that we have tried to make sure we both stay on the same page about anything and everything but even that is posing to be a challenge here and there. The GOOD thing is that we have had some pretty cool things happen the last few days, so much like all my other posts here is a "picto-blog" as opposed to my normal "story-blog" Hehe. Oh how life can sometimes take over right before your very eyes!!!

Enjoy!

Sunday: Swimming, the girls were SOOO relaxed!

Tuesday: Rian enjoyed the Cereal, yes he REALLY hangs out in there from time to time...

Thursday: Got a SUPER sweet wedding gift in the mail from my work...our FIRST engraved frame...actually got teary eyed on this one!

Saturday: Picture time with Xander (Rian's "parent-deemed" BFF). Rian fell asleep RIGHT before we got there so he was less than chipper as you can tell in MOST the pics but...hey when you get coupons for free pics you GO GO GO...and yes we still have one coupon and Grandpa Rudy comes into town next weekend. Hehe. Looks like another photo op!

Mrs. Hernandez...Officially!

So last week on the very same day that we reported about baking and gates I forgot to mention that I have officially and LEGALLY changed my last name. I had put it off because I had heard horror stories of how long it took, the details and paperwork you needed and also becuae I hadn't even ordered my certified copy of our marriage license. SOO get this.

After much postponing here is the story:

1130am: Drive to the social security office in the SCALDING heat and super hot dark colored car that takes forever for the AC to kick on. Now it was close enough, only at 59th Ave (which is literally like 8 minutes away. Get all the kids OUT of the car, just as the AC decided to kick on, walk in, get stopped by the security guard who tells me that I am at the wrong office to do a name change. OF COURSE it couldn't have SERIOUSLY been that easy.

11:53am: Get all the way back in the car (which seems to have heated up in the 2 minutes it was parked), the kids are now whining cause they are SOO thirsty, so I bribe them (yes in the heat and in dire need bribing is acceptable in our house)and tell them we will go to daddies work and get icees if they just shush and let us run the errand that is soo important. So important of course that I have put it off for nearly 4 months. Whoops.

1221pm: Get ALLLLL the way to the other social security office, two of the three kids are passed out, and I am dreading waking them all up and going to sit in an office for gawd knows how long. BUT, of course, there is no turning back now. I wake them all up, Rian wakes up smiling, Carina was already awake and still grouchy and then there is Neya. She moaned, griped, kicked and well...did anything to make me want to pack them all up and forget we had ever left the house. NOW, once I reminded her we were getting slurpees (unless of course her attitude stayed poopy) she shaped up and was my angel child.

1225pm: Get in the social security office, get my bag checked and have a brief encounter with the security guard. Here is our conversation:

Me: Hey there, nothing in there that shouldn't be, unless formula is now a bomb threat

SG: You would be surprised what we find.

Me: Haha. Oh. Weird silence.

SG: Reason for coming here today?

Me: Name change.

SG: Did you get married or divorced.

Me: (first wondering why it matters)...Married.

SG: Oh. Sorry. Your number is E59.

(meanwhile the girls are STOKED because Paul Blart Mall Cop is playing on the TV and Rian is spitting raspberries on my shoulder and for whatever reason I am beginning to sweat even though the AC is on what seems be the temp of Alaska.)

I had to laugh that he said sorry all straigh faced, I wonder if they send Security Guard to humor camp cause he must have missed the whole part where they teach you to smile when you tell a joke.

Anywho...

1231..or so: I get my number, go to sit down and my number gets called....

I go to my window, #3, and it is an old guy who is actively joking around with the ladies at the counter next to him, has me recite my social security number, hand over my card (which he voids and simmultaneously my heart kinda jumps) and he looks at the marriage certificate, and then BAM, there goes a vase of pens that Rian knocks over. ha. Never silent in my life. The gentleman laughs, talks about is grandkids, taps away at his computer, walks away, then prints out this piece of paper and SHAZAAM I am legally a Hernandez!!!

Whoa. So of course being the photo happy person that I am I take a pic of the paper on my phone and send it to my husband and here it is, a pic just for all of you.

When I went to copy this pic to my phone I also noticed some other funny and cute random pics either I have taken on my phone or that I saved on my phone from emails from friends we have hung around with so here those are as well... ENJOY!

Baking and Gates!

So yesterday I had a day off from work and of course like most other days (well ALL other days) that I have off I spent it at home with the kids. We are trying to clean out our pool so we had to come up with other creative stuff to do. So we decided to BAKE! Well kinda. We had bought some frozen cookies from Carina's school so we heated up the oven and let Neya and Rian "man the cookies". They were so cute...Neya laid them all out and Rian moved them all around the pan while she kept yelling at him...Haha.

Carina on the other hand didn't want to just throw frozen cookies on a pan so we decided the next best thing (and easiest thing) was to make Rice Krispie Treats. SO we made two batches. One regular plain 'ol Rice Krispies and one with M&M's. YUMMY!!!

Here are some pics from the baking adventure.

The other thing that went on yesterday was that we FINALLY decided to get a gate for the house that we could NOT live without. The girls were ALWAYS so easy. We never put kid locks, plug covers, cabinet latch things, gates..NOTHING. Rian is a totally different story. If it can be opened, climbed, slammed shut or have his fingers fit in it, then he will do whatever he can to disobey that little command "no". The funnier part is that when you tell him no, he smiles at you and turns back to whatever it was he SHOULDN'T be doing in the first place. That kid. At this rate the girls truly are angels compared to his sneaky butt!

So in true mommy fashion I took a pic of the one thing he hates the most in our house. Our new gate.

Note: Check out his face. He is NOT HAPPY!

Have a good one everyone!

Our 1st 4th as 5!

Phew, trying saying that title 3 times fast. LOL.

So this weekend was our first 4th of July weekend as a family of 5. It was uneventful like most but we were at least surrounded by good friends, family and one another.

I could recap and say EVERY LITTLE piece of things we did but to be quite honest. Its Sunday and aren't Sunday's supposed to be l-a-z-y!!! So instead I will post a few pics with a few captions that will sum up our weekend. Quick and won't take up to much of anyones time. Hehe.

Happy late 4th to everyone out there as well!

Rian was TOTALLY freaked out by his uncle singing...or maybe it was his hair...or maybe it was all of the above :)

The girls and Rian attempting to humor mom by taking a pic in 110 degree weather outside....but HEY doesn't Carina's new hair cut look cute!!!

AND NOW!!! Pictures from our time watching Fireworks!!!

Daddy being a good trooper even after a long day at work...what a great daddy!
The girls look so content watching fireworks. My little Angels.
I love this pic of Daddy and Son. So precious.
This is actually right BEFORE we went out to watch fireworks. Our three rugrats. Seems that they CAN get along here and there!
Neya dancing around in her clogs and dress, she talked the entire time the fireworks were going. Gotta love her!
These days the WHOLE family looking at the camera seems impossible...especially when the baby is the most tired of us all!
Matt and the girlies after throwing poppers at one another and laughing the whole time
Aww siblings DO love one another :)
Carina and I rarely ever take pics TOGETHER its normally one or the other taking pics of one another with everyone else :(

He's Walking...well...taking steps...

OH MY GOODNESS! RIAN IS WALKING...kinda... The other day (two days ago to be exact) while Rian was standing and whining (which in itself takes some talent)he stepped towards daddy. We figured it was a fluke but check it out he is actually taking brave steps without a table, wall or a chair to hold him up! I think this counts "technically" as walking... So even if it's a bit late we are off to buy him a walker toy to get him going even quicker.

The reason you ask...well...he wants to walk but he isn't QUITE there yet with the confidence so we figure with one of those push along walkers it will get him going a bit faster. I just knew he would walk by the time he was ten months and here we are...on our way at only 9 months!! Maybe by 10 months he will have it mastered...that gives us 6 days. haha. I guess we better not rush it and just better enjoy the lack of having to RUN after him...currently we just walk really fast behind his little crawling body :)

Rian taking a couple steps on Tuesday...

Rian taking a couple steps Today (Thursday)

They grow up wayyyyyy to fast.

Punk!

RC is sitting in the car with our 3 kids passed out but I wanted to take the time out to point out what a "punk" my husband is. Haha.

So I sent out an email blast to all our friends and family letting them know about our BLOG and once I felt all proud because I figured out how to make a "contact list" in GMail without screwing it up my Darling Husband decided to point out how I made an EPIC FAIL!

And while he mentioned that he also mentioned that "no one is perfect". Obviously we haven't been married long enough because every seasoned husband KNOWS his wife IS in fact PERFECT...ALWAYS Haha. So here is WHY I am rambling on...

APPARENTLY I wrote BOG instead of BLOG and he felt it quite necessary to point it out to me! What a punk. HaHa. Oh the joys of being married! Haha.

Food and Tests

Carina got her results from her AIMS testing. I know to some of you this is just another test but she ranked ABOVE average in two of the three categories so I figured I would share that with you all! Way to GO Rina!!!!

She exceeding in reading and math! WOOHOO. Who would have thought that Carina would score high in reading. She is my little reading machine. They also said she did GREAT in comprehension which was part of the reading section (she got 6 of 6 questions right) and that was always the toughest thing for her but apparently under pressure she does great! We are so proud of our little scholar. Hehe.

and NOW....

When Carina was born they didn't have ANY cool baby food meal type things.

When Laneya was born they just came out with them probably (between '99 and '04) and she hated them. Wanted nothing to do with them

Of course Rian our kid who has done everything BACKWARDS to the girls...which includes:

NOT sleeping through the night yet
Hating carseats and car trips
LOVING to move around, and get into mischief
ANDDDD....
The first kids that actually gives me NO CHOICE but to baby proof

As if that list wasn't already enough he now has proven to LOVE the little Gerber Graduate foods. Haha. It is good though, makes it easier for babysitters and such so yeah, needless to say the first experience feeding him these was cute. OH and the other thing he HATES HATES HATES was taking baths in the sink...but when you feed him food in the highchair DOWNSTAIRS its really hard to take him upstairs, get bath ready and NOT get food that has stuck to him all they way there. I am all about Hansel and Gretel and their little crumb trail but not when its from my dining room to my upstairs bathroom. SOOOO we found a trick. We now fill the sink with bubbles and he LOVES IT. Unless of course he is tired. He is getting a bit big now to fit in the sink but hey...EVERY MOM gives their kids baths in the sink at some point, we just started a little later than most ;)

Enjoy the pics from his Gerber Graduates bonanza!!!
