I know...

I know what you are thinking. 2 posts. 1 week. Gasp! Okay. So don't go falling out of your chair or anything but yes it is true. I think I may be back on the blogging bandwagon. FINALLY! It took me doing one blog post about a whole HALF OF A YEAR to make me realize how much our family and friends who are far away are missing out on. So here we are! Posting again!

So this weekend was supposed to be a super chill weekend with not much going on and then...well...and then I said that out loud and everything changed! Haha.

Our weekend officially started on Thursday. We have signed Carina up for Dance Teams at Expressions as she has high hopes of becoming a part of the Napa High Spirit Leaders when she starts High School. This takes A LOT of prep work on her side and she not only has to learn different types of dance, but also has to really see what it is to perform in front of public audiences where the unexpected can happen. So this last Thursday was the first time she has had to perform in the middle of our town. It was a blast. They had three performance times and they did so well for each one. Of course they only had a week to really prep their dance routine so it didn't come without some error but really for their first public appearance I couldn't have been more proud of a momma! I even got some vids and pics so take a peek!

Friday we stayed home and had nothing really to do except take Rian to the doctor. He had a physical to get completed for Kindergarten and he was really happy until we had to get shots done. Man, I know that some parents say to prepare the kids but with Rian its two seconds of preparing right as they walk in, 5 minutes of screaming, kicking and holding down and 1 minute of bribing with ice cream after we are done to stop the flood works! Man am I glad its over and boy did he milk those shot wounds! Boys! Also, we were down 1 kid as Laneya went camping with friends for the weekend so Carina offered to make dinner and I made some S'mores. We weren't camping and we didnt make them on a fire but hey, the chocolate and marshmallows were melted and thats all that matters! Haha. The kids had a blast and clean up was easy peezy!

Saturday was a little more hectic, we had a b-day party and a hair appt planned for the day and they both sort of overlapped. I am not one normally to take Rian to the parties for his preschool classmates but as he is getting older he realizes now when he misses out and everyone is talking about it so we decided to go. HE HAD A BLAST! They had a blow up water slide and its seriously the best party blow up ever! All the kids had a great time, the weather was perfect and since Haley, Logans mommy was there, she was able to watch Rian for me while I went and picked up Carina from her hair appt. She got highlights done and boy does she feel oh so grown up! Cute. I wish she would just stop being so dang mature! Saturday night after grabbing Carina and chilling for a little bit we went over to Steve and Holli's house for a BBQ. What a blast! The kids all got along great, the parents got to eat and drink and be merry and the mommies even got a good workout trying to chase those boys around on their toys! Sometimes I hesitate to get out of my comfort zone but I am oh so glad I did. It really was a lot of fun and it was easy to just be ourselves. So nice! Rian is already asking me when we can go back, I hate to say it, but that boy is easily pleased!

Perhaps the biggest news of the weekend is that we got a kitten! I know. Another pet. What are we thinking. Well, long story short, I needed a kitten dang it! She keeps me company and once I have her totally litter box trained (and then outside trained) things will be great. Assuming of course, the neighborhood coyotes don't decide to gobbler her up. Morbid. Yes. Truth. Yes of course. We live in the country folks. Things happen! She is dark enough so she should be safe, but we will see. We already took her to the vet and in true Hernandez Girl fashion she is already taking her fair share of my money. She is weighing in a bit small so we gotta fatten her up and head back in two weeks. So far, I love her. So much. Well world...meet Gracie Talula Hernandez!!

Sometimes Life Just Takes Over

I am sure that I am not the WORST blogger, but I am damn close. Life has been far from calm these days and since my last blog post in November of 2012 (wow thats a long time ago)...a lot of changes have gone on. Mostly in the sense that our kids our bigger, our lives are busier and our sanity and patience is thinner (along with RC's hair). I won't even try to go into detail of what you have missed and I wouldn't even bother adding pics for all these months IF I didnt love to come back here and see what's gone on. So for the sake of time...here it is...

Okay well that doesnt really seem like we did very much when you read it all out like that but that is just the high level stuff. Ugh! IF I listed everything out we might be here forever. Other things to note is that I have let Cakes go to the wayside while we tackle life by the horns. Its been good. I did my first cake in 3 months and although a bit of a struggle mentally it was nice to get back in the groove with some help from RC. Yes people, he helped bake a cake! Go figure!

Okay well, here are the pics from everything and for the sake of not having to really organize them I am going to just upload and they will most likely  not be in any particular order. SORRY!
