Okay so I looked at the date of my last post and it was January 24th. Yikes! Soo much has gone on since that lovely date. Where to get started.
Feb we had Valentines Day. As always it was low key and we celebrated with one another. Dad made dinner for his girls (and boy) and although it was a rough time for us we came out smiling.
Fast forward and I had traveled to AZ for work, had traveled to SoCal for work and have also picked up our kitty during this process. I saw friends. Got bummed about leaving AZ all over again and came back to our little family only to move into a house of our own on February 26th. It hasn't even been a month and we are already inundated with Utility Bills, have called our 'handy man' to come out and fix our windows, been through insane weather but ALSO have been able to call it our own.
Not all the rooms are situated yet (mostly our bedroom and the girls bedroom) but it already feels more like home than our house in AZ. NOT because we didn't love AZ more but because each wall has pics up and we have a full set of furniture. The fridge has pics and we have even hung up our TV! I know. All those things normally wait to be done until we are really settled but heck. This time we are serious. We just want our home to feel like home.
We did move way out in the middle of nowhere. Our neighbors are true rednecks and hippies but hey, they are nice enough. We have deer in our front yard almost every morning (some mornings they are rummaging through our garbage cans) and every now and then we see wild turkeys roaming the streets as well.
We all know I LOVE animals so its a fun treat. We live away from civilization and although some may say it sucks (especially us after this recent rain/wind storm) it really is also nice that we are away from it all to make sure we are really in tune with our fam also. NOW the commute stinks. The late nights on Softball and Ballet days stink and the fact that we can't just go "grab a bite to eat" when we don't feel like cooking stinks but hey, thats okay. We are happy.
We have a couple up there that is great to hang with and we have a friend of mine who has come up and we have RC's cousin who is staying with us for a bit so not a big deal. We still have people that love us. I have missed out on some invites for fun nights at other friends houses but we never really got those invites when we were in town either soo I guess 'no sweat of my brow' or whatever that saying is. haha.
I wanted to post a couple pics of our little tiny micro mansion and here they are...minus of course our room and the girls room so far.
Love the new home!!! And man, you don't waste any time - it's already home, sweet, home! Congrats! It's lovely! And deer in the front yard? Pretty cool - especially since you have a toddler! And you've got such pretty views too! Very serene!
